MEET AT 10.00 A.M. LONGDOWN CAR PARK
Going towards Lyndhurst on the A35 take the left turn just past Colbury Hall, drive past Longdown Farm (which is nowhere near Longdown car park), past the new Forest Centre and Deerleap car park entrances- about half a mile further on the road bears left – turn right at this bend, on tarmac. Follow this and continue over cattle grid onto gravel. The car park is about 200 yards along the gravel, just beyond a house which is an ex-chapel.
Although the start is at the same place as last time, the walk is different!

February Amble

TOTTON U3A AMBLE revised
The weather turned against us in December so, in January, we can try the walk that had already been planned, even though many of us may have walked it previously.
So – let us try the Eling walk, starting from the main car park on the Eling side of the bridge, meeting by the noticeboard at 10.00 a.m. If the forecast is for heavy rain, the walk will be cancelled but if the forecast is for showers please use your discretion when making your decision!

NOVEMBER WALK – TUESDAY NOVEMBER 15TH 10.00 a.m.
Meet at car park outside Copythorne School. The walk is around Copythorne Common. There is not a hard path all the way round, so it could be a bit damp in places. The walk will still take place if it is showery but not if it is raining heavily.

There will be no August Amble. The following Amble will be on Tuesday September 20th meeting at Ashlett Creek. The idea is to walk through to Calshot, have coffee there and walk back.(picking blackberries as we go). In case the round trip is too far for some people, we shall position at least 1 car at Calshot for return transport if required.

AMBLE – TUESDAY JUNE 14th GODSHILL
Meeting place - Godshill forest car park, time 10.00 a.m.
This is along the road towards Woodgreen from Godshill. Take the road towards Brook B3079 from Cadnam then B3080 to Godshill and when you reach the Fighting Cocks pub/hotel turn immediately right and follow a narrow windy road over a (dry) ford until you see the car park to your right on a left-hand bend.
If you have time or inclination, bring a picnic lunch and we can sit overlooking Millersford Bottom to eat lunch after the walk.
